Single Point Davit PLAR Type

Recent insights highlight that the longstanding preference for aluminum davits among navies, coast guards, and fast ferry operators is now extending into new markets, driven by the material’s weight advantages over traditional steel.Vestdavit's aluminum davits are increasingly appealing to a broader range of vessel owners as a structural alternative, offering benefits that support faster, more agile craft. Our lighter aluminum structure has been selected by operators of fast patrol boats, such as the Royal Australian Navy's Cape Class vessels, the Royal New Zealand Navy, the Danish Navy, the Swedish Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, and more.

Recently, security-focused authorities in the Middle East and South Asia have also turned to aluminum davits for fast-response applications within the 850–7,000 kg safe working load range provided by Vestdavit.

The reduction in equipment weight with aluminum davits offers critical advantages, including enhanced stability and increased payload capacity. At roughly 30% lighter than steel alternatives, aluminum davits contribute to improved vessel stability, particularly beneficial for lighter-duty vessels. Additional operational benefits include reduced corrosion, a non-magnetic structure, and a lower center of gravity (CoG) on board. This weight efficiency results in better maneuverability, reduced fuel consumption, enhanced speed response, and an expanded operational window for the vessel.
